The Aims and Objectives of the National Parents’  and Siblings’ Alliance

To secure all the provisions of the NPSA Charter of Rights

The NPSA will seek to pursue its aims through the following methods:

·    Organising national and local campaigns to highlight the aims and objectives of the NPSA;
·    Campaigning and lobbying for constitutional, legislative, financial, administrative and policy changes;
·    Improving communication between existing representative organisations, strengthening personal contacts locally, regionally and nationally;
·    Seeking to inform and unite parents and siblings of people with learning disabilities, either individually or as members of existing organisations, into a strong national voice;
·    Working with other groups representing people with learning and other disabilities towards the development of a totally united voice for people with disabilities;
·    Training individuals from member organisations to become more effective advocates/lobbyists;
·    Presenting a united front in approaches to Government and service providers.
